Chiropractic

Chiropractic is a hands-on health care discipline that focuses on the musculoskeletal system. Chiropractors often use spinal manipulative therapy to treat common joint and musculoskeletal injuries. Chiropractors are trained to provide highly-skilled and precise adjustments to the vertebrae of the spine, correcting joint motion to restore proper movement and improve function.

Massage Therapy

Massage therapy is the hands-on manipulation of soft body tissues (muscles, connective tissues, tendons, ligaments and joints) that helps to reduce pain, relax muscles, rehabilitate injuries, reduce stress and anxiety, and promote overall health and wellness.

Growing up on Cape Breton Island, sports were a critical part of my life. After earning my first degree from Cape Breton University, I attended Sheridan College for the Sports Injury Management program, becoming a Certified Athletic Therapist. Working with the Hamilton Bulldogs (AHL) and the Sudbury Wolves (OHL), gaining valuable experience, I later joined the Lake Erie Monsters (AHL) and the Colorado Avalanche (NHL) as an Athletic Therapist. Eventually, I moved my family back to Southern Ontario, where I worked with various therapists and physicians. I was asked in 2010 to become the clinical director for Advanced Physiotherapy in Hamilton. In 2024, I graduated from the Canadian College of Osteopathy as an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner, focusing on solving people’s pain and promoting healthier lifestyles through Osteopathy at the Brock Sports Medicine Clinic.

In my spare time, I enjoy coaching kids’ hockey, working out and collecting WW1 and WW2 historic items.

Shauna Kuebeck is an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner and proud Brock University graduate. It’s incredibly meaningful for her to be back on campus— this time as part of the Brock Sport Medicine Clinic—giving back to the same community that supported her as a student athlete.

With a background in Kinesiology from Brock University and a Master in Osteopathic Manual Science from the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy, she brings a principles-based approach to treatment that looks at the whole body to find the root of dysfunction—not just the symptoms.

Originally from Stellarton, Nova Scotia, Emilly moved to Ontario while attending Ridley College, where she played on the Prep girls’ hockey team. She went on to complete a Bachelor of Kinesiology (Honours) with First Class Standing at Brock University, where she was also a member of the varsity softball team. During her time at Brock, Emilly was actively involved in the Brock Sports Medicine Program, serving as a BSM Student for the Women’s Basketball team, and contributed to both the Power Cord (now BFIT) and SNAP programs. Her passion for athlete development brought her back to Ridley, where she coached U14 hockey and softball, and worked as a student trainer for the Prep girls’ hockey team. The mentorship and collaboration she experienced with health professionals during this time inspired her to pursue further education in the healthcare field.

Emilly earned her Doctor of Chiropractic Degree and a Master of Science in Anatomy from D’Youville University, where her capstone research focused on the atlanto-occipital and atlanto-axial joints. In March 2024, she was selected to attend the Association of Chiropractic Colleges Research Agenda Conference (ACC-RAC) in San Diego. In her final academic term, she simultaneously completed the Contemporary Medical Acupuncture Program at McMaster University.

Emilly is a strong advocate for lifelong learning and is dedicated to delivering evidence-based, patient-centered care by staying current with the latest research. Outside of her academic and clinical commitments, she enjoys an active lifestyle filled with travel, working out, hiking, pickleball, and hot yoga.
